Promote Technologies and Electronic-based Services that Influence Learning and Achievement
The NETP should encourage the development of learning environments that contribute to the achievement of the national educational goals and performance standards of each and all of the states. Key elements to include are:
- Creation of new learning environments that include virtual, online, and beyond;
- Incorporation of alternative methods for assessing students;
- Weaving the national technology standards (ISTE) into all the other national content standards;
- Expanding into international learning opportunities that capture the global nature of learning and offer exchanges, social opportunities, and cross cultural interactions;
- Using technology as a tool for data analysis;
- Supporting states and school districts in developing, using and sharing online learning and other new learning environments.
