SETDA National Leadership Institute Toolkit

Framework for Assessment of Technology Literacy

The TLA Work Group offers a continuum for assessment, which utilizes different assessment components or models to ensure appropriate evidence throughout the process. The depth of assessment will vary based on the current status of assessment requirements and expectations currently in place within each state or school district. Table 2 provides a breadth of assessments to assist in finding appropriate avenues for collecting data or finding evidence in the assessment process. These assessment strategies can be used with each standard individually, or clustered where it is appropriate.

The TLA Work Group strongly advocates the development of a rubric, which offers benchmarks for the assessment of quality methods for reporting aggregated and disaggregated results along with samples of assessment for the criteria in each breadth area.
